During the months of February and March 2023 I conducted research for Fontys Academy of the Arts. I developed a blueprint for a targeted strategy to give young and expectant parents opportunities to study or remain students at this college. The aim was to determine, based on conversations with student parents, what policy Fontys could implement in this regard. I also screened the current policy and current options to include this in the ideas. This was based on the expertise I have and I was free to choose the research method that I found the most suitable.
Based on the outcome of the research, I have designed several schedules for student parents, fellow students and student coaches in which one can find the wright assistance based on their question of need within the Fontys care system. I also coached a first-year student of the Master of Arts Education for 2 hours a week, who found it difficult to combine her studies with parenthood.
